Programme overview

The ND Computer Science programme introduces students to core computing and information technology concepts, combining theory with hands-on practice so graduates are prepared for further study and industry roles.

Foundation areas include:

  • Computer programming fundamentals
  • Software development principles
  • Computer hardware and maintenance
  • Networking concepts
  • Database systems
  • Operating systems
  • Web technologies
  • Mathematics for computing
  • Information systems

Duration & progression

  • Duration: Two academic years, including industrial training (SIWES)
  • Study mode: Full-time
  • After graduation: HND, Direct Entry to university (200 Level), professional certifications, or ICT employment

Career pathways

Graduates can pursue roles or further training in software development, cybersecurity, data analysis, networking & IT support, database administration, AI foundations, and ICT entrepreneurship.

Admission requirements

General eligibility

  • Written the 2026 UTME
  • Minimum UTME score of 100 and above
  • Selected, or willing to change institution to, DOTS ICT Institute of Technology

O’Level requirements

  • Five (5) credit passes including Mathematics, English Language, Physics or Computer Science, and two other relevant subjects
  • Not more than two sittings

Industrial training (SIWES)

Students complete the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) to gain real-world exposure, build professional networks, and strengthen employability. DOTS also offers structured SIWES placements through the Innovation Hub programme.

How to apply

  1. Complete the online application form at Google admissions document.
  2. Ensure DOTS ICT Institute of Technology is your institution on JAMB, or complete a Change of Institution at an accredited CBT centre.
  3. Submit personal details, academic records, UTME details, and contact information.
  4. Await confirmation and further admission instructions.

JAMB change of institution

If you did not initially select DOTS ICT during JAMB registration, you can still apply:

  1. Visit any accredited JAMB CBT centre.
  2. Request Change of Institution.
  3. Select DOTS ICT Institute of Technology.
  4. Choose Computer Science (ND).
  5. Complete the process and print your updated slip.
  6. Then complete your online application.
