Objectives of the Programme
A product of Computer Hardware Technology should be able to:
- Operate and maintain basic operating system (DOS & Windows)
- Understand the computer environment and acquire the skills needed to identify and optimize memory and computer configuration
- Start and manage computer-based business
- Carry out routine (preventive) maintenance of computer systems
- Be able to assemble and install micro computers
- Partition and format disks and load files
- Install window NT\200x in a multi-boot configuration
- Install windows and uninstall software
- Detect technical faults in a micro computer
- Setup and troubleshoot basic Network in LAN

Entry Requirements
The entry requirements into National Innovation Diploma in Computer Software Engineering programme are:
- Five (5) credit level passes in GCE "O" level or Senior Secondary School Certificate(SSCE) and National Examination Council (NECO) at no more than two sittings. The five subjects must include Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English Language and any other subject.
- UTME: The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination conducted by joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Students are to attain the required standard in Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
National Certification
Student who successfully completes all the courses/modules specified in the curriculum table will be awarded a National Innovation Diploma (NID) in Computer Hardware Engineering.
